Preparing for Tax Time
Wednesday, February 29, 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.
While you may have all of your paperwork in order to hand over to your accountant in anticipation for filing your business taxes, you may be overlooking items which could reduce your tax liability.
In this one hour discussion, BMS will familiarize you with the latest federal and state tax credits which may be available to your business. They will also discuss issues such as bonus depreciation and Sec. 179 Depreciation, so that you can decide if these incentives can work to your advantage. This presentation will prepare you to discuss with your accountant whether any of these credits or incentives will help you reduce your tax liability. You will be better prepared to ask appropriate questions and have an opportunity to obtain any necessary documentation prior to meeting your tax preparer.
This discussion will includehelpful hints to keep in mind in filing your 2011 Tax Return, as well as giving you a head’s up on what you should take into consideration to minimize your tax liability for 2012.
There will also be time for you to ask questions of your own.
Understanding and Negotiating Bank Covenants

There is much more that you need to know from your lender than interest rates and payment dates. You need to know what your lender requires and when you need to need to provide it, in order to comply with the terms of your loan and avoid default or recall of your loan. It is important to also know that lenders are sometimes willing to negotiate the covenants which govern your loan.
This one hour discussion is designed to explain various bank covenants as well as the consequences of failing to meet them. You will also receive pointers onrequirements you may be able to negotiate with potential lenders.
